Ivy's Travel: Bali Food Diary

A compile post of all foods we've tried during this Bali trip.

VUE BEACH CLUB @LV8 RESORT

Ph. +62361 8948888
Opening hours: 10am - 11pm

Vue beach club is an excellent choice to enjoy the view of Canggu beach which voted as one of the top 10 beach in the world. Vue beach club located inside LV8 resort hotel. The resort might be a bit secluded and hidden from main street, certainly not a strategic location, but the beach club really is a perfect spot to enjoy a stunning beach view not to mention waiting for the sunset while relaxing on their cabana or dipping into the pool.

There's a minimal amount of food need to be ordered for you to be able to enjoy the pool along with towel lending. An evening spent at Vue will make you forget about all your problems for a while, that's how powerful their panoramic view is.

SISTERFIELDS
Address: Jl. Kayu Cendana No. 7, Seminyak Bali
(Near Seminyak Square)

Opening hours: 7am - 5pm

Price range: 55k - 125k
Instagram: @sisterfields

Among all, Sisterfields is the one place I've been wanting to visit for quite some time due to the numerous good things I heard about their brunch. It was a good thing how most cafes at Seminyak neighborhood open very early, 7am.

Sisterfields serve all day menu with mostly eggs and sandwiches though there are also several Asian twist like two of their popular ones, Thai glazed 18 hours pork belly and Tuna tataki. I came to Sisterfields with one menu in mind, the Tuna tataki (Soba noodles with crispy squid & tuna) 75k. It was delicious! I still can't over how good it was. The soba was cooked right with raw seared of tuna and that crispy squid. The soy dressing is perfect.
We also had Chicken schnitty sandwich (70k) which was also very good, but their Tuna tataki is the one I would come back for. Oh and their smoothies! We had the passion fruit berries smoothies and loving it!
DO NOT LEAVE BALI WITHOUT A BRUNCH AT SISTERFIELD!

GUSTO GELATO
Address: Jl. Mertanadi 46, Kerobokan Bali

Opening hours: 10am - 9pm (closed on Sunday)

FB: Gusto

Bali has its own gelato affairs, so many gelato shops in the island yet Gusto is arguably admitted as the best one in town. The unbelievable cheap price, the so many flavor variants, and the oh so good taste represents all it needs in a scoop of gelato. I was surprisingly shocked when I saw the price written on board, 20k for two scoops!

LIVINGSTONE BAKERY & CAFE

(Next to Kokonut suites)

Opening hours: 7am - 10pm

I have been hearing many good words about Livingstone, especially the brunch. We were there during night time, so I couldn't comment on the brunch. We have a pizza and bolognese spaghetti for our dinner, which both tasted just okay, not too good, not bad either. On the bakery side, they bake fresh breads daily.

  MONSIEUR SPOON

- Jalan Kayu Cendana No. 2 (Near Seminyak Square)

We stayed not too far from Monsieur Spoon and since it opens so early, it just seem wrong to not pay at least one visit. The bakery smells incredible the moment we opened the door. I love the aroma of fresh breads. Here, they serve various of breads with mostly croissant and also cakes and macarons. The almond croissant is worth the try.

GARDIN BISTRO & PATISERRIE
Address: Jl. Petitenget No. 106, Seminyak Bali
Ph. +62361 8499799
Instagram: @gardin_allin

Gardin is managed by the same people behind Fable and Odysseia. If you've been to Odysseia at Pacific Place Jakarta, you would see some resemblance between them. Gardin is just beautiful. Beautiful garden with interior of green house look a like. We adore the glass windows and the high ceilings. I couldn't comment on the food yet as we only tried their afternoon tea. With 150k, it was a good deal of high tea set. The mini cakes were decent, but the sandwiches were pretty standard. No matter what, I still think Gardin is worth the visit due to its gorgeous venue.

CORNER HOUSE
Address: Jl. Laksmana 10A, Kerobokan, Bali
Ph. +62361 730276
Opening hours: 7am - midnight
http://www.cornerhousebali.com/
Instagram: @cornerhousebali

Corner house is located at an intersection of Kayu Aya and Laksmana road at Seminyak. Another pretty vintage bistro around the neighborhood. Bali is just filled with so many beautiful cafes and restaurants. Corner House opens early from 7am for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is Western and Asian, we tried their special of the day, Wok fried slipper lobster (135k) and it was pretty good!

THE BISTROT
Address: Jalan Kayu Aya No. 117, Seminyak Bali
Ph.+62361 738308
Opening hours: 7.30am - 11pm
http://www.bistrot-bali.com/
Instagram: @thebistrotbali

We didn't try any of their food here, as we passed by The Bistrot after our fulfilling lunch at Pak Malen and Corner House. We insisted on dropping by as the place is just too pretty to be left out. The high ceiling, the vintage vibe and those flowers and chandeliers make The Bistrot one of the prettiest cafe in Bali.
Love birds, if you need a place for pre-wedding shots, they are available for space renting.

PETITENGET
Address: Jl. Petitenget No. 40x, Seminyak, Badung
Ph. +62361 4733054
Opening hours: 7am - 10.30pm
http://www.petitenget.net/
Instagram: @petitengetbali

Petitenget is all about taking fresh and local ingredients into the menu. Again, another early riser cafe at Seminyak. We went there to tried the breakfast and quite lovin' it. If you are into healthy food, their Homemade toasted granola (53k) is a must try. A mixed o granola with pineapple, strawberries, mango and coconut yogurt. No mistake found on this pretty breakfast glass.

ANGELITA PATISSERIE
Address: Jl. Raya Kerobokan No. 10A
         Banjar Taman, Kerobokan Bali
Ph. +62361 7473138
Opening hours: 10am - 10pm
http://www.angelitapatisserie.com/
Instagram: @angelitapatisserie

Angelita is a chic patisserie at Kerobokan, Seminyak. The girly sort of shabby chic design makes the place suitable for an afternoon tea with their delightful cakes and pastry. Though the focus is on their patisserie, but Angelica also serve all day breakfast, salad and light bites on the menu. We tried three of their cakes, one chocolate cake which I couldn't remember the name, a mango mousse and what we liked the most, the chocolate eclair. Honestly I don't think their cakes are amazingly good but if you're in Bali, a tea time at Angelita won't hurt.

I am so ready for another Bali trip. This round Bali really impressed me with the gorgeous cafes and scrumptious food. I'll see you (hopefully) soon!
